Women are still largely underrepresented in fields such as information technology and natural sciences, engineering and mathematics. The designation STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
To create a world where men and women have equal opportunities, women must play an active role in technology and technological development.
Zonta International's scholarship in STEM aims to encourage women to invest in education, careers and leadership roles in technical fields.
