Girls must be given equal access to education, health and opportunities to participate in society as boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, girls are breastfed for a shorter time than boys, they are vaccinated to a lesser extent and they often have to stand behind their brothers. Because education is a way out of poverty and vulnerability, we work in Zonta to ensure that all children get a good education and thereby also get a better life with good health, an income and opportunities to influence. And we fight extra hard for the girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zonta International invests in education for women and girls through our international service projects and our scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The International Day of the Girl was established by the United Nations and was first observed in 2012.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Den 11 oktober \u00e4r dagen d\u00e5 vi firar flickor runt om i v\u00e4rlden och lyfter fram deras r\u00e4ttigheter.
