Welcome to our club, which has existed since 1998. Bjäre Zontaklubb has about 30 members from Bjärehalvön (Ängelholm and Båstad) and nearby municipalities. Upcoming club meetings:

January 21 – when we are at Åvalla parish home and are visited by Christina Lindberg, County Administrative Board of Skåne. She talks about a stable Skåne.

February 12 – when we get a tour of the old school in Ängelholm. Then we eat at Hus 57.

Some highlights in autumn 2025, public events:

November 25 – December 10: The shop window at Flickans städ (on Storgatan opposite Stadsparken) is decorated in orange and with orange shoes. The shoes symbolize the 104 police reports regarding violence against women in the municipalities of Båstad and Ängelholm during 2024. (See image above.)

Nov 25 at 6:00 PM: Together with Skyddsjouren, Bjäre Zontaklubb participated in a torchlight procession on the international UN day 'Orange Day', the day for the elimination of violence against girls and women. The torchlight procession started at Stadsparken and ended at Stortorget.

Nov 25 at 7:00 PM: In the Auditorium of Ängelholm City Library, we heard two current stories from today's Ukraine. Diana Kaynts, a Zonta member in Ukraine, told us about what it's like to live in war. She has her own experiences from trips to the front. Orthopedist Bengt Sturesson told us about the work with the Ukrainian hospital 'Medical Center Angelholm' and what efforts are still needed when the war is ongoing. The surplus from the evening will go to those affected by the war.

Nov 28, 11:00–15:00: The ”Buy an extra” campaign at ICA Maxi, an activity in our orange vests together with Skyddsjouren, which receives families fleeing domestic violence. This afternoon, we asked customers on their way into the store to buy and donate groceries that are needed in Skyddsjouren’s operations.
