Privacy Policy

The Zonta clubs in Sweden and Latvia make up Zonta International District 21 (hereinafter D21).

D21 believes that your personal privacy is very important. Our goal is for you to feel safe when we process your personal data. In our role as data controller, we therefore ensure that the applicable legislation on the protection of your data is followed.

The privacy policy applies to D21's use of personal data within the scope of our business in relation to you as a member.

Personal data to administer your membership

Personal data processed are: social security number, name, e-mail address, telephone number, postal address, profession and membership number.

In order to administer your membership, your personal data is used for the following purposes:

  • Contact with you, such as invitations to activities, sending out newsletters and other information regarding activities and projects.
  • Administration to manage member-related transactions, such as member registers, membership fees and more.
  • At events you participate in, such as meetings and training courses.
  • Application for grants.
  • Compilation of statistics and follow-up.
  • Login details for visiting the web.
  • Handling and distribution of surveys.
  • To register donors.

We save your personal data only as long as it is necessary.

In some cases, we may disclose your personal data to companies that we cooperate with to provide services to us in our business.

We will not sell your personal data to anyone else.

Transfer of data to third countries (i.e. countries outside the EU/EEA)

D21 acts as an administrative body for Zonta International in the USA, which in turn administers personal data about you in a membership register.

D21 hereby transfers personal data to Zonta International, i.e. to parties outside the European Economic Area, EEA. This means that personal data is transferred to a country with a different level of protection for personal data than applies within the EEA. On Zonta.org, the "Privacy Policy" describes how your personal data is processed by Zonta International.

Your rights

D21 is responsible for the processing of your personal data. You have the right to know what personal data D21 has about you and can request a copy of this.

You have the right to have your personal data corrected if it is incorrect, incomplete or misleading and the right to restrict the processing of the personal data until it is changed.

Under certain circumstances, you have the right to be deleted:

  • If the data is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected.
  • If the processing is based on your consent and you withdraw the consent.
  • If you object to our use of your data which takes place after a balancing of interests and D21 does not have important interests that outweigh your interests and rights.
  • If D21 has used the personal data in an unauthorized manner.
  • If D21 has a legal obligation to delete the personal data.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling, you have the right to report this to the Swedish Data Protection Authority.
