On February 2, Miriam Colliander Alared will give a lecture about the Women's House in Örebro – about why they exist, what the work looks like today and why it is more important than ever. She will talk about the Women's House as an organization, a little about its history and the different parts of its operations: the sheltered housing, the call center and advocacy work. She will also put the work in a larger context, based on current statistics and the developments we see when it comes to violence in intimate relationships and sexual violence.

Part of the lecture is about why advocacy and advocacy work are crucial for violence to actually decrease. She talks about how Kvinnohuset works today and how they want to develop the work going forward, to contribute to change on both an individual and societal level. It will be a story about vulnerability, but also about strength, courage and the possibility of real change.
