Writing competition about forced marriage decided

The image of a stuffed animal with a bridal crown sitting under a bridal veil and between a pair of black men's shoes and a pair of white children's shoes inspired the winner in Zonta and Frida magazine's joint writing competition about forced marriage. Photographer: Therese Schroeder.

During the autumn, Zonta and the magazine Frida collaborated to draw attention to the fact that forced marriage is something that exists all over the world, even here in Sweden.

Together with Frida, we announced a writing competition where young people could submit short stories inspired by photos taken by zonta member Therese Schroeder. The goal of the competition was to arouse interest and commitment to an issue that is unfortunately not particularly well known among young people, despite the fact that it affects many people living in Sweden today.
