Stop child marriage

The project Stop Child Marriage (The Global Program to End Child Marriage) is Zonta's signature project. But also in our other international service projects, the work to stop child marriage is of great importance to achieving equality. Child marriage is a crime. It happens more often than we think and closer than we imagine, even in our own country.

In the spring of 2024, we in the Swedish zonta clubs are investing in increasing the public's and politicians' knowledge of how child marriage destroys girls' lives. This is to influence our rulers to act to prevent girls being taken away from their families and forced into marriage.

One way for you as a private individual to make an impact is to make a gift to the Zonta Foundation for Women. The easiest way to do this is by swishing to Zonta International District 21 (which is Zonta in Sweden and Latvia) on the swishing number 123 320 40 13. All gifts received during the month of March will be forwarded to the Zonta Foundation for Women.

You can also enter via www.zonta.org/donate if you prefer to use your credit card.

If you want to know more about how Zonta International's Stop Child Marriage project impacts the lives of girls and women, click here https://zonta.se/vara-projekt/stoppa-barnaktenskap/

Finally, don't miss to test your knowledge about child marriage by taking our quiz, which you can find here http://zonta.se/quiz

With knowledge and generosity, we can make a difference. Thank you for your effort.

Christina Rylander Bergqvist, District Foundation Ambassador
