Zonta District 21 wants to contribute to the work for women's peace
Zonta International District 21, which includes Sweden and Latvia, has sent letters to Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Minister for Gender Equality Nina Larsson and County Governor Maria Arnholm with a clear ambition: to contribute to the continued work against men's violence against women.
In the letter, the district expresses its willingness to participate in the work of the Council for Women's Peace and to contribute the expertise and experience available within the organization.
District 21 brings together committed professional women in both Sweden and Latvia. Through advocacy, education and local initiatives, Zonta works to strengthen the rights of women and girls. The organization is non-partisan and non-religious and is based on a strong non-profit commitment.
There are currently 45 Zonta clubs in Sweden and over a thousand members. Together they meet people in different parts of society and run initiatives that aim to increase knowledge, change attitudes and create long-term structures for gender equality.
The district sees great potential in contributing a civil society perspective to the work against violence and for women's safety. Through dialogue and collaboration, Zonta District 21 wants to be an active partner in the national work for women's and girls' rights.
