Zonta Women in STEM Award

Women are still underrepresented in fields such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

The goal of the Zonta Women in STEM Award is to highlight and recognize the amazing work done by women in STEM and to inspire other women to continue their education, pursue careers, and take leadership positions in the field.

Who can apply

The scholarship is open to women who demonstrate groundbreaking research or discoveries and/or exemplary contributions to advancing knowledge and innovation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Applicants are eligible if they are currently in their second year of an undergraduate program through the final year of a graduate program.

Scholarship amount

Zonta International is offering 16 international scholarships of $5,000 each, as well as a one-year supporting membership in Zonta International.

Application deadline

The application deadline for all clubs in Sweden is January 10, 2027.

If you are unsure which club is right for you, please contact us before applying at stipendier@zonta.se with details of place of study and residence, we will direct you to the Zonta club to which you should send your application.

Please note, you cannot apply if you are a member of a Zonta club or a direct member of Zonta International.

Important dates

• Last date to apply to Zonta Club in Sweden. – January 10, 2027.
• Club's choice of candidate, District 21 available. – February 1, 2027.
• District 21 candidate selection, Zonta International submission – March 1, 2027.
• Zonta International will announce the international fellows in the spring of 2027.
