In order to achieve sustainable changes that benefit all of humanity, women must have equal participation in decision-making processes in society. Therefore, in 1990, Zonta established the Young Women in Public Affairs Award (YWPA) to encourage young women to participate in public and non-profit organizations.
Who can apply
The scholarship can be applied for if you are studying at a high school or another school and are between 16 and 19 years old on April 1 of the year you are applying. The scholarship is to support you who get involved in a public project or in a voluntary organization. You can apply even if you receive compensation for your involvement.
Scholarship amount
5,000 USD to each of two candidates in our district (Sweden and Latvia).
Application deadline
Application deadline varies. Contact your nearest club for the application deadline.
The club appoints a candidate who must be available to the district by April 1 at the latest.

The Women in STEM Scholarship is a scholarship for you to apply for studying science, information technology, engineering or mathematics.
The Amelia Earhart Fellowship is an international scholarship for those who study at doctoral level and who conduct research that can be applied to aviation or space science.
The JMK scholarship can be applied for by those who study economics, business or personnel management, business or information technology, marketing, international business operations or entrepreneurship.
